Narrabeen's Ocean Pool
North Narrabeen Rock Pool is the most picturesque ocean pools I’ve seen, due to its wooden boardwalk.
Twin sisters, one smaller, your average Joe kind of deal, a fifty metre, 8 lane pool. Complete with diving blocks and set up to host swimming competitions. Surrounded on two sides by big sister, let’s call her Betty. Betty is a massive 70m by 30m.
I’m not sure what it is about naming things like this, but it started with naming the family car when I was a kid. First there was the dragon, (because I couldn’t pronounce the word wagon), followed by my own first car, The Red Baron, and Buzz the yellow Hyundai Excel, up to our latest edition, Big Bertha. I think it helps give them a bit of their own personality. In this case, I think Betty is kind of a big deal.

A natural appearance to the bottom makes you feel a little bit more “wild” when you swim here. Another great pool to put on the mask and snorkel and see what you can find.

Looking out to sea over the eastern wall as the waves splash up between you and the sunrise is spectacular. It’s exactly 4.3kms north to the next ocean pool at Mona Vale, and 4.3kms south to Collaroy Rock Pool. How about that!
