Visiting Bilgola's Rock Pool

The pool is an 8 lane, 50m lap pool located at the south end of Bilgola Beach. The locals claim it as one of the Northern Beaches best! It has a curved edge closest to the cliff face that allows people to do their aqua walking and jogging routines out of the way of the lap swimmers.

A natural hidey hole, the feeling of seclusion despite your proximity to the city is refreshing.

Sandwiched between Avalon Rock Pool to the north, and Newport Rock Pool to the south, Bilgola can probably brag about size compared to it’s closest neighbouring ocean pools.

How big is Bilgola Rockpool?

The lap part of the pool is between 49 amd 50m long by 19m wide. The recreational part of the pool is about 44m long and almost 10m wide at the widest part near the middle of the pool.

When is Bilgola pool open?

Open 24 hours a day. Except when it is being cleaned.

No lifeguards on duty at Bilgola Pool. Lifeguards sometimes on duty at Bilgola Beach. More information available here.

Are there BBQ Facilities near Bilgola saltwater pool?

The closest barbeque facilities to Bilgola rock pool are at Newport Beach, only 900 metres from the pool.

Is Bilgola Pool Wheelchair and Pram accessible?

The council website states that there are wheelchair accessible toilets at Bilgola beach. i will confirm or deny when I get there in the flesh.

Good accessibility for prams.

What are the changeroom and shower facilities like at Bilgola Rock Pool?

Cold water open-air showers are located near the pool. Changerooms available.

Need a great coffee after your swim?

I am a big fan of coffee. Especially a post-swim coffee. I haven’t included many coffee recommendations on my site for a few reasons, but this one come from a local so I’m happy to share it.

Anne (who took most of the spectacular photos of Bilgola rock Pool that you see on this page) recommends getting a coffee from Zubi’s. Campos coffee in a spectacular location, after a swim. I am 100% in. Will update when I get there!
