South Curl Curl's Ocean Pool
South Curl Curl Rock Pool is an absolute beauty located at the southern end of south Curl Curl Beach. A really cool 50m, 8 lane lap pool joined at the hip to a shallower kids splash pool that gets deeper very gradually, they are separated by a concrete wall and a rocky island that begs to be jumped off. There is also another little section located at the eastern end. The pool has good accessibility, according to the council website, but will have to confirm as I believe there are stairs from the carpark, with a ramp to the shallow section and accessible toilets and parking nearby.
Visiting South Curl Curl Ocean Pool
Despite the fact that it is located in the hustle and bustle of the city, this is a really cool pool. It offers something for everyone. Iconic chain link fence, close proximity to both North Curl Curl and Freshwater Rock Pools. It’s actually 900m further to get to North Curl curl! The locals around here really are spoiled when it comes to choices of ocean pools. You could choose a different one each day, depending on your mood.
As for all the Sydney Ocean Pools I’ve looked at to plan my next visit, The Curl Curl twins are at the top of my list!
With both of them featuring a rocky “island” to jump off, I’m going to call south Curl Curl “Grubby” and her northern sister “Lisa” after two of my favourite “Thousand Irelands”. If I plan things right, I might even be able to meet them here for a photo, as their other sister lives quite close by!
