Yamba's Ocean Pool
A 30m pool located at the south end of Yamba Main Beach. Funny enough, the same length as it’s city slicker cousin, and absolute opposite as far as vibes are concerned- Bronte Baths. Also featuring a kids paddling pool at the eastern end of the main pool, (or possibly it’s just a drainage area, will need to confirm when I visit). Either way I have deifinitely seen people swimming/wading in there.
I haven’t been there yet, but it seems the Yamba pool is made for a speedy exit, with a set of steps in the south western corner, but also 2 ladders on both the longer sides of the pool. On the southern side, one halfway along and one at the eastern end, and on the northern wall, one in the western corner and one halfway.
Visiting Yamba's Rock Pool
A baby as far as ocean pools in NSW go, only finished in 1969. the laid back vibes of this country coastal town are reflected in the waters of the ocean pool.
One of those pools that I’d like to circumnavigate before taking the plunge. If swimming in the waves at the beach is not your vibe, Yamba Ocean Pool is the perfect place to cool off or punch out a few (short) laps.
The rock platform has lots of little rock pools to explore at low tide, looks like a great spot for the kids.
What other ocean pools are nearby?
Only 10 mins drive south to the Angourie Green and Blue Pools!
It’s a quick hour and 45 mins further south to Sawtell Memorial Rock Pool. An hour and 17 mins to the north is Shelly Beach Children’s Pool at Ballina.

When is Yamba Ocean Pool open?
Open 24 hours a day. Closed for cleaning every second Thursday in the warmer months.
Are Lifeguards on duty at Yamba Baths ocean pool?
No lifeguards on duty.
Is there Car Parking near Yamba ocean pool?
Car park on Marine Parade.
Are there BBQ Facilities near Yamba's saltwater pool?

Is Yamba Ocean Pool Wheelchair and Pram accessible?
Stairs from the car park to the pool.
Not sure about accessibility. Will confirm when I get there.
What are the changeroom and shower facilities like at Yamba's Rock Pool?
Cold water open air showers located near the pools. No changerooms.
My preferred option, under these circumstances, is the quick change under a hoodie towel!
Can I take my dog to Yamba Ocean Pool?
No dogs allowed at Yamba Ocean Pool. Sorry, Fido is going to have to sit this one out.

What is the water temperature at Yamba Rock Pool?
I look forward to swimming at Yamba Rock Pool along side Daniel Duck. I expect the water will be quite warm compared to lots of the ocean pools further south.
